PARENTS DEAL
The challenges faced by children and young people in the DEALS groups are often related to their families: family disputes, parents who have passed away, violence in the home, or parents who are, for a variety of reasons, not able to take care of their children.
PARENTS DEAL modules aim to establish a mutually supportive environment for parents and caregivers to address the challenges they face bringing up their children. Through the modules parents and caregivers can improve their knowledge of child development and well being, find solutions together for challenges they face, and enhance their ability to care for their children in a practical and relevant way. Having PARENTS DEAL groups running parallel to I DEAL groups is proving to be an effective combination in promoting lasting change in the lives of children and their families.
The global version of PARENTS DEAL is currently under development. For more information, please contact War Child Holland: ideal@warchild.nl
